Our Team

Adyen’s team consists of a large group of international payment experts, many of whom have worked in the payment industry for a long time. Our sales and account management force knows how the product works; our technical staff regularly meets with customers to learn about new needs.

Pieter van der Does – CEO

Prior to taking the CEO position at Adyen, Pieter was a board member of the International Merchant Services division of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). The companies managed under this division were WorldPay, Bibit, the International acquiring business of Streamline and Trustmarque. Pieter has been active in the PSP world since 1999 when he joined Bibit board. In this position he was responsible for Sales and Marketing, Legal and the international expansion of the business. In 2004, the Bibit board sold the company to RBS.

Arnout Schuijff – CTO

Arnout Schuijff has a track record as Systems Architect for transaction software. He worked for companies such as the Rabobank where he designed the first version of their online stocktrading platform. From 1997 until 2004 Arnout  held the position of Systems Architect at Bibit Global Payment Services.

Roelant Prins – CCO

Roelant is responsible for the commercial activities at Adyen. After starting his career as a consultant, Roelant started in the online payments industry early 2000. Throughout the years Roelant has held various international management roles in sales and business development for companies providing payment solutions to international ecommerce businesses. In his last position prior to joining Adyen Roelant lived in London and managed the team responsible for corporate sales in the UK for the payments division within Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

Ingo Uytdehaage – CFO

Ingo is the CFO of Adyen. His background is in the Telecommunication and Retail industries. Before joining Adyen, Ingo worked as a finance director at Royal KPN in The Hague and he held various management functions at VendexKBB/Maxeda.

Robert Kraal – Partnerships and Operations

Robert joined Adyen in May 2010. His first entrance in the on-line payment market was with Bibit in 1999. After the merge between Bibit and RBS Worldpay he became responsible for the account-management teams in continental Europe and Asia-Pacific for the payment brands Bibit, RBS WorldPay and Streamline. After RBS, Robert joined the management team of Google NL, heading up the Retail, Education and Entertainment verticals, additionally he was involved in the roll out strategy for Google Checkout. In 2008 Robert joined docdata payments as Director of Operations and Business Development. Robert holds responsibility for operations, partnerships and banking relationships.

John Caspers – Director of Innovation

John has over 10 years experience in the financial industry, working for customers such as Rabobank, ING Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland. He is author of several books on IT and Finance, including ‘Piranha Economics’. John is responsible within Adyen for aligning our payment systems with our customers’ needs.

Peter Caparso – President North America

With over twenty years experience in technology, international commerce and payments, Peter is well versed in assisting and serving the needs of North American entities. Peter joins Adyen from the Royal Bank of Scotland where he headed up the global e-commerce sales and account management teams for the United States. Peter received his M.B.A. concentrating in Finance and Strategic Management from Boston College and holds a B.A. in Economics from Villanova University.
